Hello hello hello!
My name is Griffin R Dunn (he/him/his), and I’m a videographer and editor living in Los Angeles, CA.
I’ve been a behind-the-camera man since I was barely a teenager, writing and producing dramatic shorts and comedy videos alongside my friends with all of our free time. After earning a degree in Media Arts in 2016, I began my full-time wedding videography career in Nashville, TN.
In 2021, I finally moved to the west coast. More than just a change of scenery, this move was an opportunity to expand my business and serve clients in the vibrant Southern California while upholding my dedication to the client base I built in Tennessee for more than 5 years. This thrilling endeavor has allowed me to bring my expertise to a new level and to grow as an artist and wedding filmmaker.
In addition to wedding filmmaking, my freelance editing jobs keep me inspired! I work with musicians, brands, podcasters, and influencers to create exciting original content for social media.
Lately, my free time is filled with TikTok, podcasts, and my cats. Can you blame me?

motivation
Your stories make each wedding day extraordinary.
My favorite films to produce are the ones that pop with color, the ones that make you laugh right after they make you cry, the ones you want to watch on repeat. In a wedding film and on a wedding day, there are so many unforgettable moments go by too quickly, like laughing through tears during an emotional first look with your partner or making a fool of yourself with your friends on the dance floor.
A big, big goal of mine on a wedding day is to take a fresh, low-key yet detailed-oriented approach to directing and filmmaking. Your wedding day is about you, and you deserve nothing but the best. I take pride in capturing the day with class and style, reflecting personalities and relationships in an honest light. Through ease or nerves, I’ll be a few steps away to giggle and guide the process along.

Griffin & Trevor
We first met in Nashville at a grocery store on a Sunday afternoon. We didn’t speak that day, but I noticed how cute he was in his silver slides. We nodded our hellos when we passed each other in the aisles.
A few days later, I opened Tinder for the first time in weeks. Luckily, I recognized the boy from the grocery store and swiped right, and he’d done the same! I was smitten after our first date later that weekend. He had an ease and confidence about him that I couldn’t get enough of.
After almost 10 years together, Trevor and I got married at the Beverly Hills Courthouse on March 12, 2025. We’ve been lucky enough to grow together and find some joy in this life— it still surprises me some days, and he still makes me laugh harder than anyone I know. I’m so thankful to Trevor for bringing such goodness to my life.

background
I’ve loved filmmaking since my mom gifted me my first digital camera in middle school.
Luck, fate, or some combination of the two led me an obsession with filming everything when I was young, and you could never catch me without my camera in my pocket. After making dozens and dozens of short videos with a few buddies, a close family friend trusted me to film their wedding in 2010, something I had never done. Talk about nerves! I remember my hands shaking and wiping so much sweat from my forehead during that first wedding. Today, more than a decade since then, I’ve filmed more wedding videos than I can count!
After all of the years in weddings, I make it a goal to learn something new on every wedding day. I draw inspiration for my films from all kinds of different corners, and I love to mix those flavors together. Pop culture and online culture, rom-coms and indie comedies, photo and video journalism, and my peers and collaborators in the wedding industry are all influential to me.

You couldn’t tell me I wasn’t making iconic videos as a teenager.
Along with a few close friends, I was writing, filming, directing, and editing the goofiest little films every few weeks. YouTube was the new thing, and we were more than ready to be famous YouTubers. I treated these “movies” and our brand, Purple Platypus Productions, with the high standards you can have at age 13.
I’m so proud of this part of my youth. When I look back at these videos, I’m so happy that I was encouraged to use my imagination. I was free to create and expand on my young ideas. My adolescent hobbies and dreams were ultimately preparing me for my future career in videography and filmmaking, and I’m so grateful for the journey.
